The demonstration voltmeter based on a digital multimeter is designed to measure voltage in DC and AC circuits, and also serves as a sensitive galvanometer to detect current and determine its direction. 

In addition to its main purpose (voltage measurement), the device can measure DC and AC current, resistance, and check diodes and transistors.
